I’ve been playing with wood for a long time. The first project I remember was a crudely sawn pair of skis for my Snoopy doll. I find my inspiration from many things, including Japanese design, modern architecture, and nature. My hope is my bowls instill a sense of calm and ease; we could all use a little more of both. --Christian
Starting with a hardwood board, most likely cherry or walnut, I place hardwood embers on the board and let them burn the depression of the bowl into the wood. Scrape, repeat, put the whole bowl in the fire, and let the heat and flames dictate the final shape of the bowl.
